DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH, Eurasia Group (video)
As deputy director of research, Andrew Bishop helps ensure the relevance, timeliness, rigor, and accuracy of the firm’s research. He is also a senior analyst in the Global Macro practice, where he works directly with Eurasia Group President Ian Bremmer and Chairman Cliff Kupchan. In this role, Andrew advises clients about global political phenomena (such as populism, prospects for structural reform, and global governance). He previously led much of the company’s work on long-range futures, and helped found the firm’s Geotechnology practice, focused on the geopolitics of cybersecurity.
Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Andrew was a senior political analyst in the policy planning unit of the World Economic Forum (WEF), where he advised senior leaders in emerging markets. He attended the WEF’s annual meeting in Davos for several years and conducted official missions to more than a dozen emerging and frontier economies. Andrew also has worked for the US State Department, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the United Nations. He studied at the London School of Economics, Sciences Po in Paris, and Johns Hopkins University, among other institutions. Andrew wishes Wi-Fi had not been introduced on commercial flights.
